Justin Tyler’s Gallantry Creed is a liturgy of restored source—an oath-like confession and rule of life that returns authority, identity, and conduct to God rather than fear. It begins with the names and character of God, then establishes how power must be exercised: not through harm, secrecy, urgency, or control, but through mercy, grace, and glory expressed in Christ as Way, Truth, and Life. The Creed is meant to be prayed and practiced, forming leaders and households who preserve life, dignity, and peace—rejecting domination, resisting pride’s counterfeit crown, and living from love as the only rightful source.

Restore the Source: mercy for the Way, grace for the Truth, glory for the Life—Agape over fear, stewardship over domination.

A Liturgy of Restored Source

I. SOURCE CONFESSION

(Who God Is · Who I Am Under Him)

1) ELOHIM • EL ELYON • EL OLAM

(Creator • Most High • Everlasting God)
Genesis 1:1 · Psalm 97:9 · Isaiah 40:28

I confess that all true life, authority, and honor proceed from God alone—
not from lineage,
not from flesh,
not from fear,
nor from the will of men.

Where God is love, life is given and sustained.
Where fear replaces love, life is taken, corrupted, and destroyed.
1 John 4:8 · John 10:10

2) YHWH • ADONAI

(The LORD • Lord and Master)
Exodus 3:14–15 · Psalm 110:1

I acknowledge that I stand under God as my source,
and that any power entrusted to me is accountable to Him—
for life, not for domination.

I reject fear as a source of authority,
for fear demands control,
but love governs by trust.
Romans 8:15 · 2 Timothy 1:7

3) ROCK • REFUGE • SHIELD • STRONG TOWER

(Stability • Safety • Defense • Shelter)
Psalm 18:2 · Proverbs 18:10 · Psalm 28:7

You are my Rock and my Refuge,
my Shield and my Strong Tower.

I will not take shelter in fear,
which steals safety,
kills trust,
and destroys peace.
Isaiah 57:21 · John 10:10

I reject every counterfeit refuge
that requires harm, secrecy, urgency, or control.
Jeremiah 17:5 · Psalm 32:10

4) GOD IS LOVE • THE COMPASSIONATE AND GRACIOUS LORD

(Love • Mercy in God’s character)
1 John 4:8 · Exodus 34:6 · Psalm 103:8

I affirm that God is love,
and that perfect love casts out fear.
1 John 4:18

Where love is the source,
mercy, grace, and glory restore life.
Titus 3:5 · Ephesians 2:8 · Romans 15:13

Where fear is the source,
blood, flesh, and the will of man steal, kill, and destroy.
John 10:10 · John 8:44

II. RULE OF LIFE UNDER THE BANNER

(How Authority Is Exercised)

5) YHWH NISSI

(The LORD My Banner)
Exodus 17:15 · Isaiah 11:10

Therefore, under the LORD my Banner,
I bind myself to this order of life:

I restore God’s source before judgment.
I submit my sight before my speech,
my heart before my correction,
and my authority before my action.
James 1:19 · Proverbs 4:23

For fear steals before it listens,
but love restores before it commands.
Romans 2:4 · 1 John 4:18

III. FORMATION IN CHRIST

(How Love Restores What Fear Attacks)

ROOT EXPOSURE — PRIDE (Fear’s Crown)

James 4:6 · Proverbs 16:18 · 1 Peter 5:5–6

Pride is fear’s crown—
the posture that can corrupt any lane,
weaponize any gift,
and turn even “righteousness” into self.

God opposes the proud,
but gives grace to the humble.
So I renounce self-exaltation as a refuge,
and I submit again to God as my source.

MERCY — Way into Righteousness (Not Blood)

(Against Blood · The Way Restored · Steal Countered)

6) YHWH RAPHA • YHWH TSIDKENU

(The LORD Who Heals • The LORD Our Righteousness)
Exodus 15:26 · Jeremiah 23:6

By Your mercy, O Lord,
I receive healing and restoration into righteousness.
I will not force what You restore.
Psalm 147:3 · Titus 3:5

Fear seeks first to steal the Way
to divert my steps through blood and harm,
or through grasping and avoidance—
so I drift from righteousness while calling it survival.
Proverbs 14:12 · John 10:10

But mercy finds me in the Way into Righteousness—not blood;
Goodness and Faithfulness govern my steps.
Psalm 23:3 · Galatians 5:22

Goodness, the Breastplate of Righteousness,
wars against Greed and its fruits—
hoarding, exploitation, manipulation, and grasping—
dismantling fear’s lie that I must take to live,
so greed cannot steal my path by scarcity or status.
Ephesians 6:14 · Luke 12:15 · Hebrews 13:5 · 1 Timothy 6:17–19

Faithfulness, the Shield of Faith,
holds fast to God over comfort
and wars against Sloth and its fruits—
delay, neglect, disengagement, half-hearted obedience,
and quitting what love has assigned—
breaking fear’s defense of avoidance and drift,
so sloth cannot steal my calling through numbness.
Ephesians 6:16 · 1 Corinthians 4:2 · Romans 12:11 · Proverbs 13:4

Goodness and faithfulness shall govern my righteousness.
I pray at all times in the Spirit,
with watchfulness and perseverance.
Ephesians 6:18

GRACE — Truth into Peace (Not the Will of Man)

(Against the Will of Man · The Truth Guarded · Destroy Countered)

7) YHWH SHALOM • EL SHADDAI

(The LORD Our Peace • God Almighty)
Judges 6:24 · Genesis 17:1

By Your grace, O Lord,
I remain in peace without control, urgency, or fear.
I will not demand calm by domination.
John 14:27 · Philippians 4:6–7

Fear seeks next to destroy the Truth
to corrupt conscience through pressure, urgency, and control,
and to justify wrath as “righteousness,”
or pride as “strength.”
John 8:44 · 2 Thessalonians 2:11

But grace anchors me in the Truth into Peace—not the will of man;
Patience and Gentleness guard my heart.
Romans 5:1 · Galatians 5:22–23

Patience, the Helmet of Salvation,
wars against Wrath and its fruits—
verbal violence, threats, retaliation, and punitive silence—
disarming fear’s defense of intimidation,
so wrath cannot destroy truth through panic or force.
Ephesians 6:17 · James 1:19–20 · Proverbs 14:29

Gentleness, the Shoes of the Gospel of Peace,
steadies my walk and wars against Pride and its fruits—
self-exaltation, contempt, domination, defensiveness,
and refusal to listen or repent—
unmasking fear’s defense of self-importance,
so pride cannot fracture peace or bend truth to protect my image.
Ephesians 6:15 · Ephesians 4:2–3 · Philippians 2:3–4 · 1 Peter 5:5

Patience and gentleness shall guard my peace.
I pray at all times in the Spirit,
with watchfulness and perseverance.
Ephesians 6:18

GLORY — Life into Joy (Not Flesh)

(Against Flesh · The Life Preserved · Kill Countered)

8) KING OF GLORY • YHWH SABAOTH

(Majesty • LORD of Hosts)
Psalm 24:7–10 · 1 Samuel 17:45

By Your glory, O Lord,
I receive joy in the Holy Spirit beyond shame and despair.
I will not chase relief by harm.
Romans 15:13 · Nehemiah 8:10

Fear seeks last to kill the Life
to numb joy, exhaust endurance,
and hollow the soul through flesh—
through comparison that poisons love,
and appetite that becomes a master.
John 10:10 · Romans 8:13

But glory sustains me in the Life into Joy—not flesh;
Kindness and Self-Control protect what You are growing in me.
Galatians 5:22–23

Kindness, the Sword of the Spirit—the Word of God,
cuts down Envy and its fruits—
jealous comparison, poisoned praise, quiet sabotage, resentment,
and joy at another’s loss—
breaking fear’s defense of comparative distortion,
so envy cannot kill love by making blessings feel like threats.
Ephesians 6:17 · Hebrews 4:12 · 1 Corinthians 13:4 · Galatians 5:26

Self-Control, the Belt of Truth,
holds me together and wars against Lust and Gluttony
objectification, fantasy, secrecy, excess, and numbing—
exposing fear’s defense of escape through appetite,
so appetite cannot kill joy through indulgence.
Ephesians 6:14 · Titus 2:11–12 · 1 Corinthians 6:18–20 · Proverbs 23:20–21

Kindness and self-control shall restrain my joy.
I pray at all times in the Spirit,
with watchfulness and perseverance.
Ephesians 6:18

IV. CHRISTOLOGICAL SEAL

(Why This Works)

9) JESUS CHRIST — WAY • TRUTH • LIFE

(Good Shepherd • Lamb of God • Prince of Peace)
John 14:6 · John 10:11 · John 1:29 · Isaiah 9:6

I receive this life not as an achievement to perform,
but as a gift to live—

For Christ restores the Way that fear steals,
guards the Truth that fear destroys,
and gives the Life that fear seeks to kill.
John 10:10–11

V. PROVISION, SANCTIFICATION, AND JUDGMENT

(How This Is Lived Without Fear)

10) YHWH JIREH

(The LORD Who Provides)
Genesis 22:14 · Matthew 6:33

Because I receive, I do not grasp.
Where God is my source, fear loses its leverage.
I live from provision, not performance.
Philippians 4:19

11) YHWH MEKODDISHKEM

(The LORD Who Sanctifies)
Exodus 31:13 · 1 Thessalonians 5:23

I bind my conduct to this restored life,
knowing that fruit reveals source.
Matthew 7:16–20

Where love rules, fruit abides.
Where fear rules, destruction follows.
Galatians 5:22–23 · Romans 8:6

12) EL ROI • RIGHTEOUS JUDGE

(God Who Sees • Just Judge)
Genesis 16:13 · Psalm 7:11

I renounce fear-driven authority.
I will not use strength to exploit,
urgency to compel,
silence to evade responsibility,
or righteousness to wound—
Proverbs 22:22–23

For judgment exercised from fear
always harms the innocent.
Isaiah 10:1–2

VI. COMFORT AND COMMISSION

(Presence, Stewardship, and Endurance)

13) YHWH SHAMMAH • GOD OF ALL COMFORT

(The LORD Is There • Comforter of the Crushed)
Ezekiel 48:35 · 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

I accept that healing and order arise
not from domination,
but from love rightly sourced
and patiently born.
Isaiah 42:3

The LORD is there.
Fear abandons; God remains.
Deuteronomy 31:6

14) KING ETERNAL • ALPHA AND OMEGA

(Eternal Sovereign • Beginning and End)
1 Timothy 1:17 · Revelation 1:8

May my restraint bear witness to my honor.
May my conduct reveal my source.
May my strength preserve life, dignity, and peace.
Matthew 5:16

So I stand not as master, but as steward—
answerable to God alone.
1 Corinthians 4:1–2

Amen
